How to Buy OP?

Optimism (OP) is an Ethereum-based layer-two blockchain.  With the use of optimistic rollups, Optimism gives advantages from security of the ethereum mainnet and assists scale the ecosystem of Ethereum. This exhibits that transactions are faithlessly recorded on Optimism, however secured on Ethereum. 

OP is the native governance token of the Optimism network. It plays a crucial role in the direction and operation of the Optimism ecosystem, as OP token holders can participate in key decision-making processes and help shape the future of Optimism.

Step-by-step

  1. Create a LCX account

Sign up or download LCX Mobile and start the sign up process. You will need a valid ID and proof of address in order to transact, so be sure to have those ready. Verifying your ID may take longer than a few minutes, depending on where you live. Click here to get verified

2. Deposit token

Click on “Wallet” and then “Deposit”. Choose the “Coin”, Choose the “Provider” and deposit the token. 

3. Start a trade

On exchange.lcx.com/ , select trade and choose the OP pair that you want to trade. Select “Buy” or Sell,”  enter the bid and amount you want to buy, and click buy OP. 

4. Done

Once the order is processed, you will receive an order confirmation email. That’s it, you’ve bought OP.

About OP

The OP token’s primary purpose is to enable token holders voting rights on proposals and changes to the Optimism network. This ensures that the community has a voice in the development and governance of the platform. OP token holders contribute to important decisions related to software upgrades, public-goods funding, and other aspects of the Optimism ecosystem.
